Postpone rent for three months
Sakshi, Hyderabad: The Telangana government has launched a scheme for people living in rented houses to lockdown the corona pandemic. The state government has ordered homeowners not to rent the house for three months from March. The government has issued regulations to this extent under Section 38 (2) of the Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Disease Act 1897. The government has stated that the lease dues should be taken after three months in easy installments.
The owners were ordered not to charge any interest for these three-month rent arrears. The state government has made it clear that it will take strict action under the relevant laws if violating government orders. CM KCR said in a press conference last week that homeowners should not collect rent for three months. He urged homeowners to cooperate with the government's decision during the disaster.
Telangana has seen 27 corona positive cases. In the past 24 hours, 13 cases were reported in Hyderabad and 10 corona positive cases in Jogulamba Gadwal. The total number of corona cases in the state has reached 970, state health minister Etela Rajender said.
