College was closed due to lockdown. The hostel was also closed. This caused the young woman to reach Khammam in a transport lorry. She had medical examiners there and would go home and stay in the home quarantine for a few days. The young woman, who went to her home on Tuesday, reached Dhammapeta Mandal Ganeshpadu.
The villagers were not allowed to enter the village from the check post set up at the village. Parents did not come forward to take their daughter home as the villagers opposed. The locals demanded her return. Sadly, the girl was deeply offended. At this, Ganeshappadu went to the exit and jumped into the pond. Locals who immediately identified and rescued the young woman were rushed to Sathupalli and given medical treatment.
